F.A.Q.
What’s the difference between Rental Return, Nearly New, and Brand New?
We offer three ‘tiers’ of options for our rental instruments.
The first, Rental Return, are instruments that have been rented usually more than 5 times and may have minor deficiencies in its appearance.
Nearly New instruments have typically been rented less than 5 times and are in better aesthetic condition than Rental Return.
Brand New instruments are fresh, out-of-the-box instruments with no defects!
All three tiers have been fully serviced, inspected, cleaned and play tested. There is no major discernable difference in ease of playing between the three tiers, but aesthetics can make a big difference in the enthusiasm of your student!
What do I owe Up front, and what are my monthly Payments?
All fees for the first month AND a security deposit equal to the same amount are due at the time of application. Your first payment due date will be calculated 30 days from the contract processing date, or the day you pick up in store. Each monthly payment is made to the card on file as an auto-debit transaction. We accept all major credit and debit cards. Please review our pricing list above for ADP costs and monthly payments before tax.
What is accidental Damage Protection, and what does it cover?
‘Accidental Damage Protection’ (ADP) is available as an add-on for every instrument we rent. Accidental damage happens... we get it! ADP provides you with insurance towards repair costs for accidental damage to your rental. All instruments need periodic maintenance, and customers who choose this plan will also have access to a list of services they can get at no charge during the life of their contract, including free yearly cleanings and tune-ups (often around $250 or more in value!).
How long does my rental contract go?
Our contracts at Woodsy’s are 3-month minimum, 3-year maximum length contracts. The 3-month minimum is intended to give your student time to decide if they are happy with their choice of instrument. Instruments can be returned to the store any time after the initial three-month period. After 36 months, the balance of the instrument (if any) must be paid, or the instrument must be returned.
What happens to my Security deposit, and how do i get it back?
Upon return of the instrument, your deposit will be refunded to you so long as your account is in good standing and instrument shows normal wear and tear. Our Accidental Damage Protection plan can help insure your deposit against minor repair work or loss of accessories.
What if I want to purchase the instrument outright?
All instruments are available with an option to buy! For full-size instruments, 100% of all monthly rental payments (less tax and optional ADP fees) will be applied to the purchase of the instrument if purchased within the lease term.
For undersized instruments, 75% of all monthly rental payments (less tax and optional ADP fees) will be applied to the purchase of the full-sized instrument if purchased within the lease term. In addition, 75% of all monthly rental payments will be applied as equity when a size-up occurs to the next instrument.
We offer special pricing discounts on contract payoffs made within the lease term, call us to discuss your options today!
Are there any options to upgrade my instrument?
We offer a variety of options for customers who are interested in acquiring different instruments or upgraded models. For those leasing a rental return (used) instrument, you have the option of trading up to a new instrument of the same make and model within the first 6 months of the lease. For customers who would like to upgrade to an intermediate or professional model instrument, take a look at our Encore Program.
